My son now has some sort of understanding that Mom and Dad buy him stuff. He knows we checkout of most stores we go in and gotta pay before we can walk out with it.

So these days he is quick to say what he wants. Usually what he wants is a fairly lengthy list. Toys, food, trips to fun places and more toys to round it out or just in case we forget.

I usually follow with “really?”

He says “yes”

Then I hit him with it

“You got a job?”
